Sexual Assault Response Team

To ensure that victims of sexual assault receive compassionate, supportive care, the Bedford County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) utilizes a team of professionals specially trained to provide medical care, emotional support and comprehensive medical-legal examinations. The SART program provides victims of sexual assault with resources and education to assist them in their physical and emotional recovery.

A Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) consisting of a specially trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), a Your Safe Haven, Inc. Advocate, and police officer will provide compassionate care for victims of sexual assault through the Emergency Room at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. This program serves men, women and teens 13 years of age and older.
